Strength Plus: Monel for Mechanical Jobs. 48 pp. Illustrated throughout with photographs and photomontage. Small folio, 305 x 230 mm, staple bound in publisher’s wrappers with a photomontage illustration. New York: The International Nickel Company, Inc., ND [1937].
A virtually unknown entry in the field of hi design for mundane products. Here we have a trade catalogue for the nickel allow Monel, product of International Nickel Company. From its photomontaged cover that evokes the work of Francis Bernard to its table of contents that clearly lifts from Solomon Telingater, the unnamed designer (presumably American) pulls from the cutting edge of European commercial design.
A fine copy. Rare, with OCLC locating just 2 copies at The New York State Library and Hagley Museum.
