Heilbronn Und Rothenburg ob der Tauber: in der Eckebrechtischen Buchhandlung, 1771.
First Edition. A rare 18th century weaver’s pattern book by master weaver Johann Michael Kirschbaum of Heilbronn Germany. Kirschbuam accumulated these patterns over several years which resulted in a book of considerable historic and aesthetic value. The engravings are printed on high quality paper suggesting the book was considerably valued at the time of its printing.
The text leaves suffer from some staining, but the plates are almost entirely free from it. Overall a very good copy with OCLC finding only 4 copies in the United States; The Winterthur, The Clark, The American Textile History Museum and the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
