First Edition. A fine copy of one of the great precursors to avant-garde page design of the twentieth century.
‘Gabriel de La Landell (1812-1886), in his book on aviation entitled Pigeon vole. Aventures en l'air; Aviation… , had already used devices that became popular with avant-garde designers a half century later, including combinations of pages printed in different colors or overprinted with typefaces of different sizes and colors.’ (Andel, p. 32)
Endpapers with some foxing, spine evenly sunned, some superficial wear to the binding, else fine.
